Time to stay focused!

You are all doing so well, you are over half way and the end goal is in sight.

For those of you doing the "Return" programme, your runs are getting longer and we know they may be a bit scary, remind yourself of what you have done to be successful up to this point in time. Allow yourself to trust your ability and work within levels that make you successful.

Course Description:
All Roads are open, please run on the footpath at all times and stick to the road rules 100% - be safe out there team!

  • From start point, run up to Memorial Ave, turn left into Memorial Ave.

  • Run up Memorial Ave to Ilam Rd, turn left.

  • Run along Ilam Road, take first left into Chateau Drive running all the way around the cul-de-sac and back out to Ilam Road. Turn left. 

  • Continue along Ilam Road and via left onto Aorangi Road.

  • Everyone is running to time, please turn at half way on your watches.

Post Final Run Celebration,
Reflection and Medals

On the 15th of December you are going to run 5km and we want to celebrate this in a special way!

After your Final Run we will have our Post Final Run Session. This session has a few purposes; to do some reflection and future planning (so you continue to grow with your health and fitness), to celebrate your success, and to give a medal* for running 5km (the medals are awesome!).

Here are the details: 
Date: Saturday 15 December
Time: 9.15am - 10.30am
Venue: Retropolitan Social Club (the old Cargo Bar), 359 Lincoln Road
There is parking onsite

Make sure you book this in because it's a special way to finish this step in your journey.

*A medal is given to our runners who are there at the final run day and do your 5km run for the first time. Our returning Get up to Five runners also get a medal if they have not received one before (ie: only one Get up to Five medal can be received per runner no matter how many Get up to Five programmes are completed).

The medals will be given out at the Post Final Run Celebration, if you can’t make this session contact Jo (after the final run day) to arrange postage (at an extra charge).

The way we measure ourselves can have a massive influence on the way we perform. A lot of people create unrealistic measurements that lead them to feeling unsuccessful which often leads to them stopping. For this week's education we share an audio podcast that Coach Bevan put together about this topic.

Paula Newby Frazier is arguably the greatest female athlete of all time. In 1995 she was on her way to winning her 8th world championship when she hit the wall. This clip shows that some of the toughest athletes have to go through the biggest battles just to finish.
