Beginner
You are someone who may not have been regularly exercising for a while but are keen to get back into it or you may have been walking for a while and want to start running. You may be a little aprehensive and nervous about joining Saturday Runners. We understand this may be a little scary, but we will give you all the support you need to help you have a fun experience.
This is what we are going to do to help you grow:
- The runs we use for the Beginner group vary in length and range between 5-8 kms.
- We understand that for some of our Beginners there will need to be some walking in the sessions. The way Saturday Runners is designed you will not feel any pressure if this is the case for you. The longer you stick at it the more you will run.
- A big part of what we do is creating a social atmosphere. Every week we catch up for coffee after the run, some would say it's the best part of the run. We will also be putting on some social events through out the year. Saturday Runners is a great place to meet like minded people who enjoy training and having fun together. You could even bring a friend and use it as weekly catch up session.
- After a while you may progress to the next level and step up to the Intermediate group. This may seem crazy right now but we think there's a lot of growth to be had. Imagine what it would be like to be able to run 8kms non stop, this is a totally realistic goal for you. It's our job to help you get there!
